Neverending Snow in Munich

Last sunday we had one of the worst blizzards in Munichs history (it was snowing for 24 hours and sunday morning we had about 1/2 meter of fresh snow). Unfortunately it was our turn to remove the snow from our house sidewalks. After 1 h shoveling snow away we had some funny relax on our selfmade snow mountains.

Who couldn't fall in love with Holly Golightly?

Saturday we saw her the second time in the Munich Atomic Cafe. Last year we discovered her and her Music by accident and on a tip of Christiane. We liked her both immediately (Christiane alleges me to like her only because of her beauty, but its not true: I like also the music…)

Deutscher Meister 2006: FC Bayern München

This saturday I was watching the last seasonal soccer match of my favourite club in the Munich Arena. It was great to see the championship party inside the new Munich Arena and the team car parade on the Leopoldstr. First Car with Oliver Kahn and Michael Ballack carrying the German Cup and the German Meisterschale. I was standing on Leopoldstr. near University U-Bahn station and the whole team passed by very slowly clapping hands with the fans. I will definetly repeat this on next championship win.

Visitors from Switzerland and Detmold

This weekend Christiane’s friends Sonja and Tina visited us for 4 days. It’s always nice to have them as our guests. Friday evening we were having a Spanish Diner in Munich’s El Cortijo after a nice walk in the “Englischer Garten” and a good bavarian Beer in Seehaus Biergarten. Saturday I had more important things to do (last Bundesliga soccer game FC Bayern München – Dortmund (3:3) and championship car parade … “no woman no cry” ) so the girls were on their own driving to Chiemsee and having diner in our favourite Biergarten in Aying. Day by day weather got worse and on rainy Sunday we visited together the Munich Zoo Hellabrunn. Ending the evening with a big selfmade Spaghetti diner (women overcooked the Spaghetti, tststs … a italian tragedy) and “Nobody is perfect” family game with support of 3 bottles of wine. Nice weekend, although exhausting.

Just returned from 10-day Sicily trip

Just returned from a 10 day trip to Sicily (visiting my mother). It’s unbelievably cold here in munich; It’s June and we have only 12 deg. Cels. I had 25-30 deg. Cel. in Sicily. Strange weather this year. When ariving at Munich airport you will see that we have soccer championship here in Germany: gigantic Oliver Kahn foto bridging the highway at airport munich entrance.
Oliver Kahn, the real No. 1 !
